What does the job of a Language Technology Expert at Youpret involve?
In the role of a Language Technology Expert, the main focus is on the use of NLP (Natural Language Processing) methods in various processing tasks: preprocessing of text and words, tokenization, and clustering. The expert's job description may also include other analytics-related tasks within the language technology and analytics team.
The position involves working together with the head of the language technology and analytics team, the language technology team, and the interpretation services team.
What we expect from Language Technology Expert:
- You are passionate about turning text and speech data into actionable inputs for software development
- You have some experience at basic level with NLP techniques using a scripting language (Python, R or equivalent)
- With a data-oriented mindset, you like to focus on what matters within text corpora
- You are a proactive team player with a go-to attitude
Any of the following is not mandatory but considered an advantage:
- Any prior experience with spaCy, NLTK, FinBERT, and cloud computing
- You are creative in using your own techniques to represent best words, meanings and how they are intertwined
- You have experience with speech technology
- You are able to transfer academic knowledge into code
- Finnish being our corporate language, so any basic command of it is appreciated
- Fluency in Russian is considered as an advantage.
