Why does availability matter? When a customer receives an interpreter quickly or when a replacement interpreter is found promptly (for example, due to illness), it saves the customer's time. There’s no need to spend energy wondering whether the meeting will be possible if the interpreter isn't available.
Overall, Youpret’s network of interpreters includes over 1,300 professionals interpreting in over 120 different languages from Finnish. From the beginning, we have wanted to do things fairly. We believe that our business should be opened up to an external, independent evaluator, because otherwise, responsibility might just be a hollow claim from the company itself.
We had an external assessor evaluate our entire business, including all of our impact areas: customers, employees, partners, society, and the environment. After over a year-long evaluation process, we received the prestigious international B Corp certification, becoming the first language services company in the Nordics to achieve this. To receive the B Corp certification, a company must score at least 80 points in the evaluation process, and our score was 88.1. On average, companies that go through the same evaluation process have a median score of 50.
In our latest customer survey, we asked our customers how important they think it is for the service provider of interpretation services to operate responsibly.
Of the over 800 customers who responded, 92% considered it very important or important that the interpretation service provider follows responsible practices.
We are very pleased with this, and we work towards ensuring that responsibility becomes one of the selection criteria for public tendering of language services. Price cannot be the only factor that weighs heavily when we want language services companies to operate sustainably.
